ok then some geek roland questions... what did you use to record before you got it, and how much else did it change the way you make music?

used nothing before. just a bit on a four track and the computer.

what's your experience been of the recorder's user interace? anything you wish was different about it? any feelings along the lines of analog/digital sound differences?

i wish you could do waveform editing like you can on the computer. analog/digital- they're both great, just different. i like both.

wondering how this translates live [if it does], do you bring the roland with you?

i did for a couple shows, but now i don't. i have a laptop, a sampler pedal, guitar, marimba, and whatever else i can dish up at the time. (and visuals sometimes) live is very different than the cd, but i like it that way. it's much more improvised than arranged. i usually trigger different loops on the laptop, or process sound in real time (with hyperprism), like for instance, playing the guitar thru a loop sampler pedal into the laptop, thru hyperprism.
